Coastal work off the Marina Barrage to continue to Aug 09

Part of the Marina Coastal Expressway project, extensive marine works have started just off the Marina Barrage including work on the seawall and in constructing a cofferdam.

This is a revision of Port Marine Notice No 212 of 2008. The working area, working details and the working period have been revised.

With effect from 5 Feb 09 to 4 Aug 09. 24 hours daily including Sundays and Public Holidays. Off Marina Barrage (see attached plan):
The marine construction works will entail removal of the existing revetment, removal of debris, piling works and the construction of a cofferdam by crane barge and soil investigation works by jack-barge. The crane barges will be held in place by four (4) point anchoring system. The safety zone is a circular area of 50-metre radius centred at
the location of the crane and jack-up barge. Tugboats will be used for shifting the barges within the working area. The shifting operations will be restricted to daylight hours only. A safety boat will be in attendance throughout the duration of the operations. Further enquires can be directed to Mr H Shinoda, the project engineer,
