Dunman High begins a fourth year of sharing about our shores

I had a great time with another great bunch of student councillors at Dunman High School yesterday.
I gave a talk to share about our shores and to prepare some of them to help guide at the Naked Hermit Crabs' public walks at Chek Jawa and Pasir Ris.

This is part of Mr Loh Kok Sheng's effort to introduce his students to nature and nature guiding under a very apt name of EXCEL. This programme hopes to expose students to real issues, and real efforts to address them by real people. I'm delighted to be a part of this, and look forward to meeting these joyful students outdoors!
As usual, the student councillors are among the most lively and interested audiences I've had. They asked lots of good questions too. I'm touched that they stayed back after school to listen to me. And even more impressed that 15 of them stayed even longer to hear me share about nature guiding. They will eventually join the Naked Hermit Crabs free public walks at Chek Jawa and Pasir Ris.

This is the fourth run of the programme! Here's a glimpse of the great time the Naked Hermit Crabs had with the Dunman High students last year. Mr Loh with some students in Sep 2013 just before the Chek Jawa walk.
They also shared great inputs into the Naked Hermit Crabs' guestbook.

They got a change to get a closer look at all kinds of amazing wildlife!

They sure are a lively bunch!

Read more about the student's reflections on the EXCEL Exposure blog. Thanks to Mr Loh Kok Sheng for starting and continuing with this wonderful programme. And thanks to the wonderful students for joining the Naked Hermit Crabs in this programme.

It's great to know there are many joyful youths ready to share about our shores! Look out for them at the Naked Hermit Crabs' upcoming walks.
